Sylvia Pearl Farquhar, 81, died June 18, 2023, at home.She was born November 18, 1941 in Ottumwa to Robert E. and Vivian P. Bradshaw Martsching. She married Jerry E. Farquhar November 23, 1982. He preceded her in death November 27, 2006.

Living in Ottumwa all her life, Sylvia graduated from Ottumwa High School. After high school, she worked for the Ottumwa Courier. She later worked for John Deere Ottumwa Works as a scheduler, where she retired. Sylvia raised cattle for nearly 40 years, bowled on a John Deere League, and enjoyed going to the casino.

Surviving is her sister, Kathy Clark of Batavia; brothers, Robert (Shirley) Martsching of Burlington and Dennis Martsching of Ottumwa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother David Martsching, brother-in-law Lloyd Clark, and sister-in-law Cheryl Martsching.

Her body has been cremated. No services are planned.
